The FAA is hiring experienced air traffic control specialists to manage live traffic in Terminal and En Route environments across the National Airspace System. You will issue clearances, ensure separation, coordinate with adjacent units and progress through facility-specific training to achieve Certified Professional Controller status. Appointees may complete required coursework at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City and then receive progressive on-the-job training with pay increases as milestones are met. Candidates must be willing to accept assignment at any FAA ATC facility based on agency needs.

Its Air Traffic Organization provides air navigation services across the United States and large oceanic areas, operating airport towers, TRACONs and Air Route Traffic Control Centers. The ATO oversees technology modernization and safety training that support safe and efficient operations nationwide. Facilities and offices span every state, with central technical and training centers in Oklahoma City and Atlantic City.
• U.S. citizenship and Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959  • At least 52 consecutive weeks of post-certification ATC experience within the last 5 years at an FAA facility, a DoD or National Guard ATC facility, or an FAA contract tower  • Copies of ATC certifications submitted with the application; resume must document hours per week for each job  • Willingness to work at any FAA ATC facility as assigned • Age 35 or below by the announcement closing date unless previously appointed to the 2152 series before age 35, per statutory rules  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug testing and a background investigation suitable for Secret clearance
