Other Minimum Flight Time

Minimum 500 hours on a relevant aeroplane type.
Up to 100 hours in a suitable simulator may count toward the 500-hour relevant-aircraft requirement.
Flying experience on the current aircraft type within the previous 12 months required.
Relevant aeroplane type means a multi-pilot turbojet certified to CS-25 or equivalent, or a multi-pilot turboprop with at least 10 tonnes MTOW or more than 19 passenger seats.

Other License Requirements

UK Part-FCL ATPL(A), or UK frozen ATPL(A) with the flight-hour requirements for ATPL(A) issue completed.
Current type rating required. DEP- Long-haul 2026 UK licence holder v1.1.pdf
Current type rating does not need to be endorsed on the UK licence.
Applicants must remain in possession of a UK frozen ATPL(A) or ATPL(A), including where an EASA or other ICAO licence is also held.
Applicants who meet the ATPL flight-hour requirements but have not yet upgraded their licence will complete the upgrade during type rating training.

Additional Requirements

Right to live and work in the UK required.
Valid passport with at least 12 months remaining before expiry and unrestricted worldwide travel required.
Height between 1.57 m and 1.91 m; pilots outside this range may be required to complete a functionality assessment.
Ability to swim 50 metres and then tread water for 3 minutes required.
Ability to tread water while fitting a lifejacket and pull own body weight into a life raft required.
Long-haul suitability is assessed during selection; candidates not meeting the long-haul standard may instead be offered a short-haul fleet position.
