Trainee

Train to become an air traffic controller with Naviair, Denmark’s state ANSP. Over 2½–3 years you progress from classroom and simulator training (Entry Point North near Malmö) to on-the-job training at Danish towers and Copenhagen ACC, learning to manage traffic safely and efficiently in all phases of flight. The recruitment process includes standardized aptitude assessments; applications are submitted online and must include your upper-secondary school diploma. Successful trainees are prepared for operational roles across Denmark’s ATC units.

Naviair is Denmark’s state-owned air navigation service provider under the Ministry of Transport, responsible for en-route and approach control in Danish airspace. It also delivers flight information services in the North Atlantic area, including Greenland (Nuuk) and the Faroe Islands (Vágar). Operations span the Copenhagen Area Control Centre and local tower/approach units nationwide, supported by modern ATM systems. Naviair co-owns the Entry Point North academy, which provides ATC training and simulator services in close cooperation with the company.

Requirements

• Completed upper-secondary education: STX, HF, HHX, EUX, IB or HTX (or foreign equivalent with documented grades in English and mathematics) • Danish language: pass “Studieprøven i Dansk” with grade ≥ 02 if educated outside Denmark • Medical fitness: able to pass an aviation medical; normal hearing; no color vision deficiency; no corrective lenses exceeding +5.0/−6.0 diopters • Selection process: pass FEAST and subsequent RADAR/MULTIPASS simulations, assessment centre, psychiatric screening, and security clearance (PET) • Application materials: upload your upper-secondary diploma with the online application
