ROMATSA is recruiting ab-initio air traffic controllers for nationwide vacancies (59 trainee positions). You’ll begin on a training path that starts with Basic and Rating Training (~9 months) and continues toward unit qualification, learning to manage traffic safely and efficiently in Romanian airspace. Selection is multi-stage (FEAST I, FEAST II, FEAST III with interview) and conducted in Bucharest; FEAST I–II run online in English, while FEAST III includes an online test and an interview in Romanian. ROMATSA is Romania’s state air navigation service provider under the Ministry of Transport. It delivers en-route, approach and tower control, plus aeronautical information (AIS), meteorology (MET), communications/navigation/surveillance (CNS) and search-and-rescue alerting in line with ICAO standards. The organisation manages Romanian airspace, coordinates civil–military use, and integrates with EUROCONTROL initiatives to enhance safety, capacity and efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum age 18 • Education: upper-secondary diploma (bacalaureat) or equivalent • Languages: Romanian at advanced level; English at least B2 (CEFR) • No previous ATCO trainee or ATCO licence under EU Reg. 2015/340 • Clean criminal record • If FEAST taken in the past 24 months: consent to use prior results per ROMATSA/EUROCONTROL rules; certain previously admitted candidates who withdrew/declined are not eligible this cycle • Aptitude/working profile: very good spatial orientation and memory, rapid decisions, mental arithmetic, multitasking, teamwork, stress tolerance, shift work (days/nights/holidays), good visual and auditory acuity • Medical before interview (INMAS): Class 3 medical (AACR), negative psychoactive-substances test, and “recommended” psychological exam; all three must be uploaded to proceed to FEAST III/interview • Required documents for application: ID card, Europass CV, diploma, letter of intent, clean criminal record, GDPR consent form; originals checked at interview

• Training costs covered by ROMATSA under a training agreement • Employment during training: fixed-term contract (12 months), part-time 6 h/day; base salary at the statutory minimum wage during this period • Note: travel, accommodation, medical and psychological exam costs for selection are not reimbursed by ROMATSA.
